Please join us Tuesday August 4 for the 26th annual National Night Out, an event designed to reduce crime by strengthening police-community relationships. Meet members of the Harrisonburg Police Department in a relaxed, casual environment over free food from downtown restaurants.
Merchants of Historic Downtown Harrisonburg will again lead off the Harrisonburg festivities with pizza, BBQ and snacks on Court Square at 5:15pm. As the seat of the county court house, city municipal building and public safety building, downtown is proud to have served as the kick-off point since the event began in Harrisonburg. Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance and MHDH also welcome the evening as an opportunity to thank police officers for the work they do protecting residents and businesses.
After the Court Square event, police officers and city officials will continue on to visit different neighborhoods in town. According to the Daily News-Record, events will conclude at 8:30pm at Target, one of the national event sponsors.
