Snippets of Downtown Harrisonburg

Continuing our round of guest posts, I wanted to share some specific, detailed photos of downtown Harrisonburg, to give you a glimpse into details you might otherwise have missed. Our downtown has a remarkably rich mix of architecture, industry, retail, restaurants, art, and people. Maybe all of these images are familiar to you, and maybe some of them are new.

All of these photos were taken on a single evening in the past few weeks, within two or three blocks of the Courthouse, and none have been significantly edited, other than minor cropping and some exposure editing. If you’d like to guess where they’re from, please go ahead in the comments – no prizes available, unfortunately, except bragging rights. Each photo is numbered.

  1. #1 Back of America building, #2 Back door of the Masonic Lodge, #3 Loading dock, Artful Dodger?, #4 City Bus?, #5 Hardesty-Higgins House, #6 ?, #7 Pocket Park beside TV3 studio, #8 Court Square Theater, #9 Wetsel Seed compound, outside of Union Station.

  2. Excellent guesses! 1, 2, 5, 7, 8, and 9 are correct.

3 and 4 are close, but not quite! 🙂 4 is a vehicle, but not a city bus.
