Summer Jam at Massanutten Resort is back for the 17th time! The buzz is undeniable as the Mountain prepares for this show featuring two national headliners, as well as one of the area’s most loved bands.
Summer Jam is set to start at 5:30pm on Tuesday, July 3rd with Charlottesville’s own Sons of Bill taking the stage. Sons of Bill are known for their bluesy sound infused with good old rock and roll. They will get the audience ready for all that is in store for the rest of the evening.
Next up will be Bryan Elijah Smith and The Wild Hearts. With impeccable show and album reviews, and over 500 original songs under their belts, they are the real deal. Bryan Elijah Smith is also known to belt out some awesome covers of the tunes we all know and love. They are a true joy to have on the stage.
Summer Jam’s headliner this year, a truly “cannot miss” act, is Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band. Their energy, unique sound, and sometimes even flaming washboards (yes, this tends to happen at their live shows!) are just some of the reasons this Big Damn Band has been captivating audiences internationally. They play over 250 shows a year, many at large festivals such as the Vans Warped Tour, Bonnaroo, Floyd Fest, and Austin City Limits. They also played five consecutive nights at The Full Throttle Saloon during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
Summer Jam will end with a BANG at 10 pm with the grand fireworks finale from the top of Massanutten Peak. This event will also have delicious foods available and many kids’ activities such as face-painting, a petting zoo, a rock climbing wall, and t-shirt coloring.
The RVA Hoop Lovers will also be on site to spread their passion of hoop dance!
100% of the proceeds of Summer Jam are given to the Rockingham-Harrisonburg SPCA.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online and printed at home by going to www.massresort.com/summerjam through July 2nd. The ticket price will rise to $25 the day of the event. Kids 8 and under are FREE!
