First Fridays has full line-up for this Friday, October 5


Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance partners with the Arts Council of the Valley to present First Fridays Downtown, a monthly showcase of local art exhibitions and musical performances. The October edition will also include the Park(let) Project, which showcases parking spaces downtown that have been transformed into temporary public parks. Both First Fridays and the Park(let) Project are free and open to the public.

First Fridays Downtown is a celebration of culture and community held in 34 locations in downtown Harrisonburg from 5-8 pm on the first Friday of the month from April through December.  The schedule of venues and planned events for October 5 are as follows:

Hardesty-Higgins House Visitors Center | 212 S. Main Street • Open for First Fridays Downtown, the Visitor Center will be offering free travel information, maps, children’s games in the Valley Turnpike Museum, interpretive film in the Civil War Orientation center, restroom access and light refreshments

Larkin Arts | 61 Court Square Area • 1st Juried Art Show – juried by Paul Somers and Ragan MacManus who will speak about their selection process at 7:30 • all are invited to vote for your favorite artist (5:00-7:15) and an audience choice winner will be announced
