This free, two-day community event features the work of local artists, citizens, businesses, and schools that will turn parking spots into “parklet” spaces: temporary public parks and other spaces for people to enjoy. The Parklet Project is an interactive community effort to demonstrate what Harrisonburg would look like if more public space was allocated for urban parks, recreation, social interactions, and other people-centered activities. These green spaces serve as encouragement for social conversation about design, civic engagement, and the community.
When: TONIGHT, Friday, October 5 from 5-8 pm & Saturday, October 6, 8am-12pm
Where: all around downtown Harrisonburg
Cost to attend: Free
So check out the parklets as you’re enjoying the exhibits and performances of tonight’s First Fridays! We’ll see you downtown!
