The annual Chocolate Walk will celebrate its third year this evening, Friday, May 10th! This super sweet event raises funds and awareness for The Collins Center. The Collins Center is an incredible resource in our community that models and promotes the prevention of child sexual abuse and provides excellence in sexual assault response and treatment in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.
For those of you who have attended in the past, we’re sure you’re psyched for another evening of chocolaty indulgence. For those who have yet to partake, let us paint a picture of what you can expect. Participants will make their way to downtown Harrisonburg shortly before 5:00 p.m. this evening, Friday May 10th; some ready for this sugar-filled challenge, others unsure. Maybe you’ve purchased your ticket ahead of time, or perhaps you’ll need to buy one this evening. Either way, $10 for you and $5 for your child will be well worth your while.
Fourteen downtown businesses have opened their doors to welcome you and 349 of your closest friends to peruse their shop and sample some chocolate delights. Local musicians will keep you entertained as you continue your stroll.
By this point, the walk is surely becoming a stroll, but that’s okay. It’s not a race. Getting thirsty? You’re in luck. On your way into Larkin Arts, you’ll find a beverage station with milk and water to keep you hydrated for the rest of the walk. Before you know it, it’s close to 7:00 p.m., and the Walk is nearing its end. Be sure to hit up the final spots on the other side of Court Square, rounding out an evening of sampling 14 types of chocolate.
Ten dollars could not be better spent than on a ticket for the Chocolate Walk. We hope you agree and will join us this evening!
